Actress * Singer * Dancer * Voice Over Talent Ryan has been performing from the early age of six and her love for theatre has never faltered. Her formative years included Shakespearian tragedies, American classic comedies and nine seasons with Sacramento’s Music Circus. Ryan earned her Bachelor Degree in Musical Theatre from Chico State and while in Chico, performed such favorite roles as Betty Blake in The Will Rogers Follies, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, and Doris in Same Time, Next Year. She was directed by Coy Middlebrook as Libby in Nicky Silver’s drama The Maiden’s Prayer and played Diana Morales in A Chorus Line. Before coming to San Diego, she worked in the Bay Area in such shows as the WIllows Theatre Company production of Mountain Days (Louella) directed by Richard Elliot, Contra Costa Musical Theatre’s Titanic, the Musical (Kate McGowan) directed by Harvey Berman, and Contra Costa Civic Theatre’s Dracula (Lucy) directed by Daren A.C. Carollo. Ryan has taught acting, modeling, directing and commercial voice over techniques independently in Chico and San Diego, California and with John Robert Powers in Marin County. While earning her Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at San Diego State University’s elite MFA program, she was seen as Meredith in Bat Boy, the Musical, Lily Byrne in A Man of No Importance, directed by Rick Simas, and Mavis Frye in The People Vs. Mona directed by Paula Kalustian. She has worked with New Village Arts and the Carlsbad Playreaders to narrate the staged reading of Laura Shaine Cunningham’s Beautiful Bodies directed by Kristianne Kurner. Ryan was seen in Vista, California in Moonlight Stage Productions’ 2005 and 2006 Seasons as the venerable Widow Douglas and the loving Aunt Sally in Big River and as Miss Flannery in Thoroughly Modern Millie, both directed by Kirby Ward.
